Whitecaps FC 2 fell 1-0 to Timbers2 in a Friday evening match at Swangard Stadium. The team started out with a lineup that featured four products from the Whitecaps FC BMO Academy, including midfielder Manav Badwal who became the club's youngest starter in an MLS NEXT Pro match. Goalkeeper Sam Rogers was called into action in the 11th minute, making a save on a long strike. In the 64th minute, WFC2 had a good chance as the freshly subbed in Marko Popović was in on goal, but was stopped on the breakaway. In the 73rd minute, Timbers2 broke forward quickly, with Daniel Cervantes poking it in to put the visitors ahead 1-0. The 'Caps battled valiantly, but in the end were unable to find a tying goal.
